INDECENT EXPOSURE DEEP IN POETRY

Red Wine Friends

Lost in a wine glass,
her lips stained with red,
her glass smeared in red wax,
Lipstick taints her glass,
red wine taints her mind.
Lost in the wine glass,
there is nothing for her left to find.

She downs bottle after cheese after bottle after cheese,
she thinks this makes things better,
but a moment on the lips,
forever the hiccups.

She corks another bottle,
3 down two more to go,
the room is her tomb,
the glass her only friend,
her lipstick not the only thing that’s making her a lush.
